This year, as the holiday season approaches, we decided to make a brief checklist on what you should do before taking a trip to see your family and friends. Whether you're embarking on a long road trip or a short drive, preparing your car for holiday travel is crucial for ensuring a safe and smooth journey.

Begin by giving your car a comprehensive check-up. Ensure that all fluids are at the appropriate levels – this includes engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid. Check the battery for any signs of corrosion and ensure it's holding a charge, as cold weather can be tough on batteries.

Tires are critical for safe driving, particularly in winter conditions.

• Tire Pressure: Cold weather can cause tire pressure to drop. Check the pressure and inflate your tires as needed, referring to the manufacturer's recommended levels which can be seen in the owner’s manual or inside the door jamb of your driver's side door.
